After serving as a frontline first aid attendant during World War II, Arvid Olson returned home and was elected as President of the Board of the Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union in 1952. From 1960-81, he worked as General Manager with a mandate to build up asset and membership bases. Because of Arvids’ vision, the credit union dominates the financial services sector in our market today with 20,000 members, 46% market share. In fact, 7 out of 10 local people deal in some way with the Credit Union.
